We are a short commute (45 minutes) from Perth to our purpose-built airstrip
Family friendly rosters giving you more time at home and less time travelling
Being closer to Perth the mid-west offers a more temperate climate than the Pilbara region

The opportunity

We are seeking a Rail Operator Maintainer preferably with a Track Infrastructure background to support safe, efficient train operations at Karara. The role focuses on coordinating train load-outs, managing stockpiles, overseeing blending, sampling, and reporting product movements, with scheduled periods assisting in track maintenance.

This position operates on a continuous shift roster and requires successful completion of a Category 1 Rail Medical, including drug and alcohol testing.

Operating on an 8 days on and 6 days off roster - FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Geraldton.

To be successful in the role, the following is essential:

ARC Infrastructure Track Accreditation (PO, POLO, POTV)
Track maintenance and/or rail operations experience
WA Driver’s Licence
Intermediate computer skills (email, data entry, Excel, etc.)
National Police Clearance

To be eligible to apply for this role you must be legally permitted to work permanently in Australia.

Key Duties include (but are not limited to):

Manage train loading area operations, including train movements, loading activities, and efficient supply of trains to the port
Compile daily production data for rail operations, train loading, and stockpiling
Ensure contractor train loading and stockpile activities are conducted efficiently and within target KPIs
Collaborate with other departments to achieve operational plans and targets
Assist with rail infrastructure inspections and maintenance to ensure a safe and reliable rail system
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety and efficiency
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Line Manager in line with skills and competency

The ideal candidate will be able to work shift rosters, with strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, proven capability in coordinating multiple aspects of the supply chain, and solid logistics experience.
