Hamilton Island is one of Australia’s most iconic integrated tourism destinations, encompassing luxury hotels and resorts, food and beverage outlets, retail, marina operations, aviation, property and major commercial ventures. We are seeking an experienced Business Transformation Lead to partner with our Chief Operating Officer and Executive Leadership Team in shaping and delivering a coordinated enterprise transformation agenda across this diverse portfolio.

As Business Transformation Lead, you will translate business strategy, executive priorities and emerging opportunities into clearly defined and coordinated initiatives. You will establish enterprise-wide visibility of the transformation portfolio, strengthen business cases and investment decisions, and ensure each initiative has clear ownership, governance and measures of success.
You will also lead the organisation’s change and communications capability, ensuring employees and operational teams are prepared to adopt and sustain new ways of working across people, processes and technology.

Translate business strategy and executive priorities into clearly defined initiatives, outcomes and decision points

Provide structured analysis, options and recommendations on complex or ambiguous business challenges

Establish consistent processes for assessing, prioritising and governing transformation initiatives

Identify dependencies, resource constraints, sequencing conflicts and change saturation across the enterprise portfolio

Support business leaders in developing robust business cases, including investment requirements, risks, benefits and measures of success

Coordinate investment governance forums, executive papers, decisions and follow-up actions

Establish clear executive sponsorship, business ownership and accountability for strategic initiatives

Assess operational impacts and provide a consolidated view of business readiness across people, processes and technology

Set the organisational change and communications approach across the transformation portfolio

Ensure initiatives have fit-for-purpose plans covering stakeholder engagement, communications, training, readiness and adoption

Prepare concise, evidence-based executive and Board papers to support informed decision-making

Lead and support the Change & Communications Lead, setting clear priorities and delivery expectations
You are an experienced transformation leader who combines strategic thinking with a practical, outcomes-focused approach. You can navigate ambiguity, turn complex information into clear recommendations and influence senior stakeholders through credibility, sound judgement and constructive challenge.
Highly organised and commercially astute, you understand how to balance day-to-day operational priorities with longer-term transformation goals. You bring structure and accountability to evolving priorities while avoiding unnecessary process or bureaucracy.

Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Management, Strategy, Organisational Change or a related discipline

At least eight years’ experience across strategy, transformation, business improvement, consulting or organisational change

Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide transformation or complex cross-functional initiatives

Experience leading organisational change, business readiness and communications to support successful adoption

Strong understanding of portfolio prioritisation, investment governance, capacity planning and the balance between business-as-usual and transformation demand

The ability to translate complex information into compelling executive narratives and Board-ready presentations
-
Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills
-
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to challenge assumptions and influence business outcomes

The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with exceptional attention to detail

A high level of integrity, professionalism and discretion when handling commercially sensitive information
