About the role
As the Chief Governance and Risk Officer, you will oversee the Governance, Audit and Risk, Project Management Office and Parliamentary functions for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (Cth) (CDPP).
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will provide expert guidance and support to the CDPP Executive Leadership team on all aspects of public sector governance and risk management, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, government frameworks, policies, and procedures.
This role influences the CDPP's strategic direction by ensuring governance frameworks enable the effective achievement of outcomes, support informed decision-making and reflect the highest standards of integrity and accountability.
Your highly developed leadership, management, analytical and communication skills will be critical when leading the Branch to successfully manage projects from initiation to completion, while ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget. You will apply sound judgement and develop productive relationships, including with the Director, Deputy Director, Commonwealth Solicitor, Audit and Risk Committee Chairperson and Members, and the CDPP senior executives.

Demonstrated executive leadership with the ability to shape organisational direction, through enterprise-wide project and change management initiatives;

Extensive experience strengthening governance, risk and assurance frameworks that are compliant with statutory government legislation, frameworks and policy;

Demonstrated experience in providing evidence-based strategic complex policy and legislative advice to stakeholders at all levels, in a dynamic and changing operating environment;

Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with a proven ability to build trusted relationships across executive teams, partner agencies and internal and external stakeholders;

A collaborative leadership style that develops organisational capability, fosters high-performing teams and drives a culture of continuous improvement; and
