What you’ll do:
Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a Software Engineer to join our growing Technology team at Wesfarmers Health.
In this role, you'll work alongside talented engineers, product teams and business stakeholders to design, build and support secure, scalable and cloud-native solutions that power critical customer and operational experiences across our health, beauty and wellness brands. You'll play a key role in delivering innovative technology that makes healthcare and wellbeing more accessible for Australians, while continuously learning, contributing new ideas and helping shape the future of our digital platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing high-quality software solutions using C#/.NET and modern engineering practice
- Building APIs, integrations and cloud-native applications using AWS services and event-driven architectures
- Contributing to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation and DevOps practices
- Supporting the reliability, observability and performance of production systems
- Collaborating closely with Product Owners, Architects, Delivery Leads and cross-functional business teams to deliver valuable outcomes
- Participating in code reviews, testing, continuous improvement initiatives and engineering communities of practice
Helping shape engineering standards and contributing to a culture of quality, innovation and continuous learning

What you’ll bring:
- Proven practical experience in building and supporting production software, preferably in cloud-native, API, integration, retail, health, pharmacy, loyalty, ecommerce, fulfilment or operational platforms
- Strong C#/.NET capability including ASP.NET Core, dependency injection, asynchronous programming, API development and unit/integration testing
- Practical AWS experience across Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, Event Bridge, S3, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, IAM and related serverless patterns. Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions experience is desirable
- Experience with PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, SQL, schema design, data access patterns and basic performance troubleshooting
- Understanding of REST APIs, WebSocket communication, event-driven integration, retries, DLQs, idempotency, observability and secure integration patterns
- Demonstrated experience working in agile delivery teams using backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, peer review and release practices
Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline
