About the role

The Project Coordinator / Research Nurse/Registered Nurse (RN3) – Tiny Baby Initiative is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and operational delivery of clinical research activities supporting the MICRO Premi Research Study and the Tiny Baby Unit (TBU) Model of Care. This role is central to:

Establishing and maintaining a prospective cohort of extremely preterm infants
Ensuring high-quality data collection, regulatory compliance, and protocol adherence
Supporting integration of research into clinical practice within a high-reliability neonatal care model

The position contributes directly to achieving the study’s goal of improving survival and longterm outcomes for infants born extremely preterm. We are looking to fill this position on a maximum term basis until February 2030.

Salary range: $70.58 - $76.63 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

Coordinate day-to-day operational delivery of the Tiny Baby Initiative, including the MICRO Premi Study in partnership with the medical/research leads
Ensure adherence to study protocol, timelines, and milestones
Liaise with families regarding study participation, including consent
Collaborate with the project research assistants and researchers to coordinate collection, storage, and tracking of biological samples and physiological data
Support implementation of evidence-based care bundles aligned with the study
Contribute to the development of a Centre for Research Excellence in Tiny Baby care

About you

Current and unrestricted registration with Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife with neonatal experience.
Post graduate qualifications in the relevant specialty (Nursing / Midwifery and/or research) or working towards same.
Minimum of five (5) years post graduate cumulative clinical experience
Experience in clinical research coordination and data management (highly desirable)
Experience with REDCap or similar databases
Experience in neonatal research or cohort studies (highly desirable)
Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic clinical environment
