About the Role
At Curtin University, we create spaces that leave a lasting impact on our diverse community.

We're seeking an experienced and innovative Place Activation Coordinator to join our Communications and Engagement team on a fixed-term contract from September to January 2028 (parental leave cover.)

From concept through to event delivery, you will plan and deliver a range of fun, unexpected and engaging initiatives that appeal to students, staff and the broader local community.

Key Responsibilities:

idea generation, creative pitch, event planning and development, and event management and delivery.
work collaboratively with internal teams, consultants, contractors and external partners to maximise event success and impact.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery within scope, budget and agreed timelines.
Use qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate initiatives and continuously improve future programs.
manage a diverse range of events and contribute to the supportive team culture.

Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role, you will have:

Demonstrated event management or placemaking experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
The experience and ability to develop creative, unique, and engaging experiences.
Strong organisational and time management skills to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Experience using data and insights to evaluate outcomes and inform continuous improvement.
The flexibility to work outside normal office hours when required to deliver and support events and activations.

Role Requirements:

As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role
