The opportunity
We are seeking a talented Senior Aerospace Structural engineer to support a world class fleet of air combat and electronic attack aircraft, the F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler. As a key member of our Sustainment Operation Engineering team, you will support the Aircraft Structural Integrity (ASI) program which is essential in ensuring continuing airworthiness of the aircrafts. The role is based in RAAF Base Amberley, QLD.
Responsibilities
- Support the management of the ASI Program through the various phases of the Aircraft life cycle and the ASI master tasking plan.
- Monitor and manage the Aircraft structural fatigue life to ensure the aircrafts are safe and reliable throughout their life.
- Take ownership of assigned projects across functional groups from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards, resolve technical issues and document key decisions.
- Identify potential challenges and develop innovative solutions without waiting for direction.
- Foster a collaborative environment by sharing knowledge and best practices with team members.
Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace, Aeronautical or Mechanical from nationally accredited program. (RPEQ &/or CPEng desirable).
- 7-12 years of experience in aircraft structural integrity (ASI) or aircraft repairs including aircraft structures design, analysis or engineering support to in-service aircraft operations.
- Previous experience in developing engineering artefacts within a regulated aviation environment such as, the Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR) environment or similar (CASA, FAA, EASA, etc.).
- Possess strong analytical skills, including the ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyse data to develop conclusions and recommendations.
- Well-developed communication skills to work collaboratively to a high standard within a multi-discipline team. A proactive mindset with a strong desire to take initiative and drive results.
- Applicants must be Australian Citizens and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance (NV1).
