Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is actively seeking a Cyber Analyst to join the C-17A Globemaster III sustainment services team at RAAF Base Amberley.

The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) commands a fleet of C-17A Globemasters, the backbone of Australia's heavy lift capability. These aircraft operate relentlessly—24/7, 365 days a year—supporting critical missions both domestically and internationally. - Own the security and resilience of a mission-critical ICT system that underpins the operational readiness of Australia's strategic airlift capability in a demanding, high-tempo environment.
- Lead the implementation and management of cybersecurity risk controls and technical security measures within a tightly integrated program supporting the Royal Australian Air Force's heavy airlift fleet.
- Operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where every day presents new cybersecurity challenges and opportunities to enhance the protection of critical C-17 ICT systems.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including maintenance, engineering, supply chain, and other supporting functions, while engaging directly with Defence Groups, System Program Offices, and Commonwealth partners to ensure secure and compliant system operations.
- Drive continuous improvement through vulnerability management, incident response, and security design analysis, contributing to the ongoing cyberworthiness and accreditation of C-17 ICT support systems.
Be responsible for:
- Security Controls Development:
- Vulnerability Management: Manage vulnerabilities related to C-17 ICT systems and develop, risk assessments and remediation plans to ensure the effectiveness of the systems security posture.
- Security Design Analysis: Analyse security designs and recommend solutions to reduce security risks and Implement required ICT changes to systems through the Defence change management process to ensure secure and compliant operations.
- Cybersecurity Incident Management: Ensure timely reporting and investigation of any cybersecurity incidents in accordance with the system Incident Response Plan (IRP)
- Authorisation Documentation.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Relevant or working towards a degree in a cyber related field or demonstrated experience.
- Digital Forensics (DFIR) certifications such as SANS are desirable.
- Experience with security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
- Familiarisation of Windows and Linux environments.
- Knowledge of the Australian Information Security Manual (ISM), Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF) and the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) is a bonus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements. Currently hold, or be able to obtain and maintain, a minimum Negative Vetting (NV1) level security clearance for this role.
This role may be subject to Foreign Work Authorisation (FWA) requirements under Australian Department of Defence legislation introduced in 2024.
