Executive Assistant to the Director (Japanese & English)

Location: Sydney CBD
Employment Type: Casual (approximately 30+ hours per week), with the opportunity to transition to permanent part-time or full-time as the role develops.
Salary: $40–$50 per hour + superannuation (depending on experience)

About Azuma Restaurant

Established over 30 years ago, Azuma Restaurant is one of Sydney's most respected Japanese fine dining restaurants, offering authentic cuisine and exceptional service to our valued clientele.

We are seeking a highly organised, proactive and professional bilingual Executive Assistant to provide direct support to the Director. This newly established role offers the opportunity to help shape the position while becoming an integral part of our business.

Key Responsibilities

Provide executive and administrative support to the Director
Manage the Director's calendar, appointments and meeting schedules
Prepare correspondence and documents in both Japanese and English
Coordinate meetings, travel arrangements and business activities
Manage general office administration and records
Assist with restaurant reservations and customer enquiries when required
Coordinate private functions and special events
Liaise with suppliers, contractors and external business partners
Assist with special projects and other administrative duties as required

As this role involves working closely with the Director, a high level of professionalism, discretion and flexibility is required. Occasional communication outside standard working hours may be necessary for urgent or time-sensitive business matters.

About You

Fluent in both Japanese and English (written and spoken) – essential
Previous experience as an Executive Assistant, Personal Assistant, Office Manager or in a similar role
Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills
High level of professionalism, discretion and attention to detail
Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Hospitality experience is advantageous but not essential
