Job Description

NOTE: This role has potential to be extended beyond the initial 12 month contract.

Join a high-performing Finance Operations team and play a key role in delivering critical data and automation processes that support TAL’s Finance business units. This position contributes to the monthly reporting cycle while helping drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and innovative solutions across the function. Working alongside a team of passionate and highly motivated professionals, the role offers the opportunity to be involved in meaningful change initiatives and efficiency improvements that create real business impact.

Success in this role comes from thriving in a collaborative environment where knowledge sharing, peer review, and collective problem-solving are highly valued. Strong partnerships across the team ensure the delivery of high-quality outcomes while fostering a supportive culture focused on achieving shared goals and objectives.

In this role you will:

Support the execution of key Finance processes under supervision of the Manager or Senior Manager, including
o Execution of Prophet models
o Execution of processes to update monthly assumptions
o Preparation, manipulation and interpretation of data
Develop detailed knowledge of financial reporting requirements at TAL
Support project and ad-hoc requests under supervision of the Manager or Senior Manager

Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in actuarial studies, mathematics, statistics or equivalent relevant disciplines
Exposure to FIS insurance suite of products – Prophet, DCS
Proven problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong Excel skills

Desirable:

AASB 17 financial reporting experience
Aptitude for learning new software tools
Experience in delegating to junior team members
