Full Job Description

E&I Commissioning Technician

We are seeking experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Commissioning Technicians to join our commissioning team supporting major mining and industrial projects. This role is responsible for ensuring electrical, control and instrumentation systems are installed, tested and commissioned safely and efficiently before handover to operations.

Key Responsibilities

Execute commissioning activities for electrical, control and instrumentation systems.
Perform loop checks, calibration and verification of field instrumentation.
Conduct function testing of motors, switchgear, MCCs, PLCs, DCS and SCADA systems.
Identify, investigate and assist in resolving faults, defects and commissioning issues.
Review drawings, test packs and commissioning procedures to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Record commissioning results and maintain accurate commissioning documentation and reports.
Liaise with engineers, construction teams, vendors and client representatives throughout the commissioning process.
Support system start-up, performance testing and final handover activities.
Maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to site procedures and standards.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A recognised Electrical Trade Qualification with instrumentation experience.
Cert III or IV in Instrumentation and Control.
Previous commissioning experience within mining, oil & gas, heavy industrial or resource sector projects.
Experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA and industrial control systems.
Sound understanding of electrical and instrumentation testing methodologies and commissioning processes.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs and loop drawings.
Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
Current Driver's Licence and the ability to work on remote FIFO sites.
High Risk Work Licence (WP)
Working at Heights
Current Drivers Licence
LVR/CPR and First Aid certification
Knowledge of Australian Standards and mining industry commissioning practices.
