Your New Role and Responsibilities
Leidos Australia supports the integration of intelligence and situational awareness capabilities through the JP2096 Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) system. This work enables Defence analysts to rapidly search, collate and assimilate data from multiple sources, supporting more timely and informed decision‑making in complex operational environments.
The Service Delivery Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of software sustainment and enhancement activities across multiple Development & Integration (D&I) squads within the Mission System environment. Working closely with customer stakeholders, Engineering Leads and delivery teams, you will translate strategic priorities into executable delivery outcomes while balancing operational commitments, technical constraints and delivery risk.
This is a hands-on delivery leadership role suited to professionals who enjoy working closely with engineering teams, delivery plans, release schedules and day-to-day execution. The role is not a portfolio management, director-level or manager-of-managers position.
Key responsibilities for this role include:

Lead the end-to-end delivery of software sustainment and enhancement activities across multiple agile delivery teams, ensuring predictable and reliable delivery outcomes.

Develop, maintain and communicate integrated delivery plans, release schedules, roadmap views and delivery artefacts that provide transparency across customer, engineering and governance stakeholders.

Translate customer priorities and roadmap objectives into an achievable delivery sequence, balancing scope, schedule, risk, quality and technical feasibility.

Manage cross-team dependencies, delivery risks, issues, constraints and competing priorities to ensure successful delivery outcomes.

Partner closely with Engineering Leads, Technical Leads and Product Owners to coordinate planning, release readiness, sequencing and delivery execution.

Drive effective release planning and delivery governance activities, ensuring commitments are met while supporting continuous improvement and delivery maturity.

Lead stakeholder engagement across customer and governance forums, managing expectations, escalation paths and delivery trade-off decisions.

Monitor delivery performance through practical delivery metrics, reporting and visual management tools to support informed decision-making.

Contribute to the ongoing evolution of service operations capabilities, building repeatable delivery practices that improve delivery reliability, scalability and customer outcomes.

Support program growth objectives by strengthening delivery capability, operational maturity and customer confidence.
What You’ll Bring to Make an Impact

Demonstrated experience in a hands-on delivery leadership role within software, application development, systems integration or technology delivery environments.

Proven experience owning integrated delivery plans, release schedules, roadmaps, dependencies and delivery outcomes across multiple teams.

Strong experience balancing software sustainment, operational support and planned change delivery in complex environments.

Demonstrated capability managing competing priorities, delivery trade-offs, risks, issues and stakeholder expectations.

Experience working directly with engineering and technical teams to coordinate delivery planning, sequencing, release readiness and execution.

Strong understanding of Agile delivery principles and practical experience using delivery management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet or similar.

Experience operating within structured governance environments while remaining closely connected to day-to-day delivery execution.
