The UniSuper Advice Business Unit operates as a Centre of Excellence, integrating all channels of advice, education and guidance, digital capability, professional wealth management, and external adviser partnerships within a single system. The team provides strategic, operational, and governance capability to deliver high-quality, professional advice and guidance that strengthens member outcomes, supports financial wellbeing, ensures compliance with AFSL and Trustee obligations, and positions the fund as a market leader. The role below plays a key part in leading UniSuper’s coaching-led General Advice proposition, strengthening the connection between member need, next best action and progression into the right advice pathway through a scaled hybrid model.
This is a unique opportunity to shape how members engage with coaching-led advice at scale and influence better financial outcomes nationally.
The role
Lead the national Superannuation & Retirement Coaches channel, with accountability for strategy, operating model, performance and evolution of the coaching-led General Advice proposition. You will set direction, drive consistency and lead through others to strengthen member experience, channel capability and outcomes. Furthermore, you will:
- Lead national channel performance, capability and coaching quality standards
- Own and execute the coaching-led strategy aligned to the hybrid advice model
- Oversee retail site operations to enable strong member experience and action
- Set workforce direction to align capacity with demand and service priorities
- Drive member engagement, conversion and progression into advice pathways
Provide strategic input, governance oversight and external representation

About you
You are an experienced leader in financial services with a strong understanding of advice, coaching-led models and member engagement. You bring commercial acumen and the ability to lead through others to deliver scalable, outcomes-focused solutions. In addition, you have:
- Strong experience in financial services, advice leadership or channel strategy roles, including accountability for leading senior teams and complex service models.
- Proven ability to lead channel strategy, performance and proposition evolution
- Strong data-driven decision-making and commercial judgement
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder leadership skills
- Ability to influence and deliver outcomes across complex environments
Deep understanding of general advice frameworks, coaching-led service, paired with expertise in financial wellbeing models
