Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The Opportunity
This is an exciting two-year project role (July 2026 – June 2028) focused on improving outcomes for women living with endometriosis and persistent pelvic pain. Working within RANZCOG's Research & Policy team, you will lead the coordination and delivery of key clinical guidance initiatives across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
The role will oversee the update of the Australian Living Evidence Guideline: Endometriosis, support the development of new multidisciplinary clinical guidance for Persistent Pelvic Pain, and contribute to the creation of a multidisciplinary education program. Collaborating with clinical experts, stakeholders and working groups, you will ensure all project deliverables are evidence-based, aligned with best practice, and support improved clinical capability and patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of new RANZCOG Persistent Pelvic Pain Clinical Guidance
- Lead the development of clinical resources and patient information associated with the clinical guidance for Persistent Pelvic Pain
- Manage updates of the Australian Living Evidence Guideline: Endometriosis using living evidence processes
- Manage updates to clinical resources and patient information associated with Australian Living Evidence Guideline: Endometriosis
- Lead the delivery of associated multi-disciplinary online and in-person education and skills maintenance workshops
- Provide guidance, general supervision and effective oversight of the two (2) Project Coordinators
- Use established methodology, governance and reporting processes as outlined in the RANZCOG Handbook for the development of evidence-based clinical guidance, and adapt methodology for clinical guidance that is not directly informed by evidence
- Lead activities in accordance with agreed processes and contractual requirements including:
- managing the needs analysis, scoping review and consultation prior to guidance development;
- establishing and managing activities for a multi-disciplinary expert working group responsible for leading the guidance development, the RANZCOG Persistent Pelvic Pain Guidance Development Group (GDG);
- managing activities for the existing Endometriosis GDG(s)
- providing the oversight of contracted evidence activities (search, appraisal, and synthesis in accordance with GRADE methodology) completed by the Evidence Team;
- managing communication requirements to enable the GDG to review robust evidence for the development of clinical recommendations and practice guidance;
- collaborating with the Evidence Team to ensure the funded initiatives remain on track and key milestones are met, while aligning work with the GDG and College priorities;
- developing and updating supplementary Endometriosis and Persistent Pelvic Pain resources; and
- managing engagement with key interest groups to promote and support the adoption of endometriosis and pelvic pain guidance to align with best clinical practice
Ko wai koe | About you - Key Selection Criteria
The ideal candidate will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification at an Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree level; and
- Proven experience leading the development and updating of clinical guidance, preferably within women’s health.
- Demonstrated experience delivering government-funded projects of comparable scope and complexity from initiation through to dissemination on time and within budget, including the ability to design and implement effective processes to support delivery
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary experts as part of a working group or expert reference group.
- Excellent organisational skill to succinctly record evidence appraisal processes, rational for changes, and decisions
- Proven ability to ensure that the final project deliverables are cohesive, high-quality, and aligned with audience needs, whilst meeting all contractual requirements
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, high-quality documentation and effectively engage with a broad range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively and share information with colleagues and key interest groups
- Experience with critical appraisal of scientific literature using data analysis
- Working experience within the Australian and/or Aotearoa New Zealand health systems
- Practical knowledge MS Windows (intermediate skills in contemporary software)
- Sound editing skills. An aptitude in Adobe, Survey and Reference Management (citation) software is an advantage
- An interest in and commitment to issues concerning women’s health is an advantage
- A demonstrated understanding/experience in medical research/scientific publications is an advantage
