About the role
The Hospital Nurse Coordinator role is a pivotal to the safe management of Box Hill Hospital across 24 hours.
Are you a motivated professional senior nurse with relevant experience in managing a range of issues for example staffing, codes, safety of staff and patients? If so, this role may be just what you are looking for.
This position requires well-developed nursing leadership including outstanding communication, excellent problem solving and the ability to work well within multidisciplinary teams. The candidate must be able to effectively fulfil the role of emergency controller for all emergency codes and be a lateral thinker to ensure best outcomes for patients and the organisation.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
Post Graduate qualifications in a relevant clinical area and or/ Health Care Management
Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
Recent experience in a similar role or managerial experience at a senior nursing level within an Acute Hospital setting
The ability to work both within a multi-disciplinary team, but also as an autonomous practitioner when required
Ability to effectively manage staffing resources within budget whilst ensuring all care standards are maintained
An ability to be able to align services and resources to meet the changing needs of our communities
Proven record of managing difficult and at times challenging situations
The flexibility to work a 7-day rotational roster
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
