We are seeking experienced and professional Security Officers to join our Powerlink contract as Full Time Permanent Relievers.
Working within a 24/7 security operation, you will play a critical role in protecting Queensland's essential energy infrastructure and supporting compliance with the Security of Critical Infrastructure (SoCI) Act and related regulatory frameworks.
This is an exciting opportunity to work across a variety of security functions, including gatehouse operations, security monitoring and Security Operations Centre (SOC) activities. Every shift contributes to the protection of infrastructure that Queensland relies upon every day.
About the Role
As a Security Officer Reliever, you will provide operational support across Powerlink's statewide security network and Security Operations Centre.
Reporting to the Duty Lead, Security Operations – Powerlink, you will be responsible for monitoring security systems, coordinating incident responses and supporting the safety and security of critical infrastructure assets across Queensland.

Location: Powerlink Sites & Security Operations Centre
Roster: 24/7 rotating roster including day, afternoon, night, weekend and public holiday shifts. Flexibility to work across multiple locations and operational functions is required.
Key Responsibilities
Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

Monitoring CCTV, access control, intrusion detection and duress systems

Monitoring alarms and security systems in real time

Assessing, prioritising and coordinating responses to security events and incidents

Escalating incidents in accordance with operational procedures
-
Coordinating first-line responses to security and emergency situations
-
Liaising with Police, Fire, Ambulance, SES and other emergency services
-
Supporting lone workers, remote personnel and travelling employees
-
Operating systems including Gallagher, CCTV/VMS platforms, duress systems and International SOS
-
Completing incident reports, evidentiary records and operational documentation
-
Maintaining accurate security logs and records
-
Participating in structured shift handovers
-
Performing gatehouse and access control duties as required
-
Supporting field teams and operational stakeholders across the Powerlink network
About You
You are an experienced Security Operations Centre (SOC) Operator, Control Room Operator or Security Officer who thrives in fast-paced operational environments and understands the importance of protecting critical infrastructure.
You remain calm under pressure, can manage multiple priorities simultaneously and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and operational discipline.
You will bring:

Previous experience within a Security Operations Centre, Control Room or similar security environment

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Ability to manage multiple systems and incidents simultaneously

Strong attention to detail and report-writing capabilities

Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills

Ability to follow procedures and documentation standards rigorously

High levels of professionalism, reliability and accountability
-
Experience within critical infrastructure, utilities, energy, transport, defence, policing or emergency services environments will be highly regarded

Flexibility to work rotating shifts across a 24/7 operation
Mandatory Requirements

Current Queensland Security Licence (Monitoring & Unarmed)

Current Senior First Aid & CPR Certificate

Ability to obtain and maintain an AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance
