The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
The Vcitorian School Building Authority (VSBA) leads the planning, delivery and maintenance of education facilities across Victoria and oversees one of the state's largest building programs. This role will play a central part in ensuring school and early learning infrastructure is planned and supported in a way that is equitable, evidence-based and sustainable.
About the Role
Reporting to the CEO, the newly created Executive Director, Asset Planning and Support will lead the statewide planning, prioritisation and support functions that underpin maintenance and asset management across Victoria's government schools and early learning facilities.
You will lead a critical portfolio at the intersection of strategy, data, investment and public value — building the evidence base on asset condition, risk and need, translating that insight into funded maintenance programs, and strengthening the systems and support that help schools and early learning services manage their assets well.
This is a role for a highly strategic executive who can combine system thinking, analytical rigour and influential leadership to drive better long-term outcomes across one of the state's most important public asset portfolios.
You will:

lead statewide asset planning, prioritisation and investment recommendations

turn complex asset, financial and service data into clear, evidence-based decisions

drive the development of asset management frameworks, policies, standards and systems

oversee maintenance planning, support services and grants that help keep facilities safe, functional and sustainable.

build strong partnerships across schools, early learning settings, government and key stakeholders
-
provide high-level strategic advice to Ministers, the Secretary, the CEO and senior executives
-
lead a high-performing division with strong governance, accountability and continuous improvement

We are seeking an accomplished executive with a strong track record in leading large-scale asset, infrastructure, policy or service portfolios in complex environments.
You will bring:

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline are essential, and post graduate qualifications are desirable.
