Create better Emergency Department experiences by connecting patients, families and carers with compassionate, timely support and communication.

Employment Type: Temporary Full Time (up to 1 March 2027)
Position Classification: Administration Officer Level 5
Remuneration: $41.52 - 42.46 per hour
Hours Per Week: 38
Location: Westmead, Auburn, Mount Druitt and Blacktown Hospitals (rotating position)

Join Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD), where your work will contribute to safer, more welcoming and more inclusive healthcare experiences for diverse communities.

You’ll work closely with Emergency Department clinical and non-clinical teams to strengthen communication, build trust and ensure patients and their support networks feel informed and cared for while awaiting treatment.

Be part of a busy, dynamic healthcare environment where every interaction matters.
Help shape a culture centred on patient, family and carer experience.
Work collaboratively with frontline staff across triage and Emergency Department waiting areas.
Support culturally responsive and inclusive approaches to patient care.
Turn feedback and emerging opportunities into practical service improvements.

What you'll be doing
As Patient Experience Coordinator, you’ll bring empathy, initiative and strong communication skills to improve the experience of people navigating Emergency Department care.

Lead initiatives that improve the waiting experience for patients, families and carers.
Coordinate communication with clinical and non-clinical staff to support timely information and escalation.
Identify and respond to opportunities for service recovery, including resolving non-clinical concerns.
Monitor patient and carer feedback and use insights to inform service improvement and change.
Use technology and innovative approaches to deliver accessible information and strengthen patient-centred care.
