THE ROLE

Izakaya Hosaku is looking for experienced Chef to join our team!

Since operating in August 2023, Izakaya Hosaku is a hidden gem well known for our vibrant atmosphere, exceptional service and modern Japanese cuisine. Thanks to our insistence on food quality and exceptional customer services, our business is having a rapid growth. The Chef role in this prestigious modern restaurant requires a seasoned professional with experience in high-end kitchens.

Requirements and Responsibilities:

· Prepare and cook food, particularly fish preparation and sushi making;

· Monitor and ensure quality of preparation and presentation of dishes are in accordance with the restaurant standards;

· Plan menus, estimating food and labour costs;

· Prepare foods;

· Discuss food preparation issues;

· May assist and recruitment and training of staff;

· Monitor stock levels, manage inventory and order food supplies;

· Ensure proper handling, storage and labelling of ingredients and prepared items;

· Ensure efficient management of goods, produce and minimizing wastage; and

· Follow and enforce food safety and sanitation regulations.

REQUIREMENTS

To be considered as a right candidate, you will need to demonstrate:

· Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years work experience in commis chef/chef position (or equivalent);

· Candidates with proven experiences in sushi making are essential;

· Possess relevant qualifications in commercial cookery and hospitality management (highly recommended but not essential);

· Be capable of working in a fast-paced kitchen environment;

· Be capable of working with a minimum degree of supervision;

· Be competent of ensuring the efficiency of kitchen’s operation;

· Have strong communication skills who can cooperate with all other employees in the business;

· Have advanced knowledge of occupational health and safety;

· Have Excellent personal hygiene skills, great presentation and strong working ethics;

· Strong attention to details and pride in your work

· Willingness to adapt and be flexible
