Drive strategic procurement and category management across WSLHD

Manage strategic procurement, category opportunities and commercial improvement to deliver better value across Western Sydney healthcare.

Remuneration: $118,821 - $140,201 per annum

Location: Main office in Westmead (This is a LHD wide role)

Where you'll be working
Based at Westmead Hospital, this is an opportunity to join Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) and influence procurement across a complex and diverse healthcare environment. Working with clinical, corporate and supply chain stakeholders, you’ll help create innovative approaches that strengthen performance, support sustainability and deliver value for the community.

Join a collaborative Supply Chain team supporting a major metropolitan health network
Build strong partnerships with clinical, corporate and industry stakeholders
Influence procurement strategies that support quality, safety and operational efficiency
Work in an environment where innovation, evidence and continuous improvement are valued
Contribute to better outcomes for patients, staff and the Western Sydney community

What you'll be doing
You’ll lead the systems, processes and commercial activity supporting corporate and clinical procurement projects across WSLHD. Using category management expertise, market insight and financial analysis, you’ll identify opportunities to improve performance, generate savings and maximise value.

Lead procurement projects including rebate schemes, contracts and new procurement initiatives
Identify and deliver cost-saving, value-add, investment and disinvestment opportunities
Develop robust business cases, cost-benefit analyses and performance measures to guide decisions
Lead horizon scanning, research and evaluation to identify emerging procurement opportunities
Strengthen governance, stakeholder capability and supplier partnerships through education, training and effective commercial practices

How to Apply

Advanced communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult, negotiate and liaise effectively with people at all levels of the organisation

Ability to analyse and solve complex challenges / problems, including option appraisals

Experience in critical literature evaluation, change management, research and quality assurance activities

Good understanding of financial management and contract management

Relevant post-graduate qualifications or professional experience in management, business, commerce, accounting

Understanding of supply chain activities and how systems should support them, so as to be able to act as business owner of processes related to procurement project
