Share your passion for singing, voice and creative expression. Join our team as a Principal Voice Instructor & Singing Teacher at The Sydney Voice Studio!

About The Sydney Voice Studio

Sydney Voice Studio is a creative education studio helping adults, teenagers and children discover, develop and enjoy the craft of singing and music.

We offer a range of services, from one-to-one singing lessons, group programs, choirs and performances, through to bespoke school-based and organisational workshops and creative projects, working with everyone from complete beginners through to experienced singers.

Our studio has been featured in media, including The Lifestyle Channel, Binge and The Sunday Telegraph.

We are looking for 1–2 experienced Principal Voice Instructors/Singing Teachers to join our team.

This role suits someone who loves teaching, enjoys working with different ages and abilities, and wants to contribute to a growing creative organisation.

The Role

You will deliver high-quality singing and voice education across a mix of individual and group settings.

Your work will include:

One-to-one singing and voice lessons, group classes, choir settings and school-based or workplace/organisational workshops
Teaching adults, teenagers and children
Vocal technique and healthy voice use, repertoire and song interpretation, performance skills and musicianship concepts
Creative and studio projects, including event planning, content creation/social media and course or resource design and development

There is also the opportunity to contribute to educational resources, events, student experiences and other projects aligned with your strengths.

Who We Are Looking For

Ideally, you will have:

Approximately 4+ years of professional teaching experience
Experience teaching one-to-one students (adults, teens and children)
Experience teaching groups, ensembles or choirs is highly regarded
Strong knowledge of vocal technique, singing/vocal pedagogy and voice science
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisation and professional judgement
Confidence using technology, email, scheduling systems and client-management platforms
The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
A willingness to undertake ongoing training and professional development

A degree in Music, Music Education, Performing Arts, Voice, Education or a related field is highly regarded, although strong professional and industry experience will also be considered.

Above all, we are looking for someone who loves to share the many benefits of singing with a broad community, is team-oriented, and client/student focused. Someone who understands that teaching singing is about more than technique. It is also about confidence, creativity, expression and helping people discover what their voice can do.

You care about doing excellent work, take ownership of your students and responsibilities, and enjoy contributing to a strong team.

Additional Experience We Value

Experience in any of the following would be particularly valuable:

School or curriculum-based music education
Choir or ensemble direction
Songwriting, performance or recording
Piano and/or guitar accompaniment skills
Educational resource development
Online education or digital content
Social media, marketing or short-form content creation
Customer service and client relations
Community engagement and business skills

No need to tick every box! We are looking for someone with excellent teaching skills, warmth, initiative and strong professional standards.

Availability

This is a permanent part-time position (2 days or 3 days per week)
Saturday availability along with capacity to work some afternoon and evening teaching hours.
We currently have opportunities available across Tuesday to Saturday, with the final schedule negotiated according to studio requirements, candidate availability and teaching demand.

What We Offer

Part-time position
$73,000–$78,000 FTE, pro rata, equivalent to approximately $1,120–$1,800 gross + 12% superannuation, depending on experience and contracted days.
2 part-time positions available, from 2-3 days per week, covering a mix of teaching and non-teaching work
Internal training and mentoring along with opportunities across individual and group teaching, and to contribute to projects, workshops and events
Access to studio facilities and resources
A supportive team of experienced singers, musicians and educators

Requirements

Hold a current NSW Working With Children Check, or be willing to obtain one
Have Australian working rights
Meet Sydney Voice Studio's professional and student-care standards and teaching availability
