About the role:
Western Health are currently seeking applications for the 2027 Graduate Diploma of Midwifery Clinical Placements. Western Health has an excellent reputation for providing Graduate Diploma of Midwifery students with a well-supported clinical placement program. Students rotate through the key areas of Maternity Services, gaining the clinical experience required to successfully complete the practical component of their degree.
About the program:
- Full Time - 6 days a fortnight as a student across all areas of Maternity (not employed/not paid).
- Part Time - 3 days a fortnight as a student across all areas of Maternity (not employed/not paid).
- Students will be rostered in accordance with a rotating roster.
- Successful placements are subject to receiving and accepting an offer from their university for the 2027 Graduate Diploma of Midwifery.
Please note that the Paid Employment Model for 2027 is yet to be confirmed. In your cover letter, please indicate your interest in participating in the Paid Employment Model, which involves employment as a Registered Nurse in the Postnatal Unit for six days per fortnight, alongside paid clinical placement.
About you:
- Applicants must be intending to enrol in the 2027 Graduate Diploma of Midwifery.
- Applicants must be eligible to work as a Registered Nurse in Australia in 2027.
- Applicants must have 2 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute setting.
- Applicants must have immunisation clearance prior to commencement.
