Full Job Description

Description:

We're looking for two experienced Bakers / Bakery Team Leaders to create amazing, high-quality breads, rolls, pastries and other bakery products for our artisan French-Vietnamese Bakery, La Baguette Boulangerie Patisserie.

This is a hands-on leadership role. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and coordinating the bakery team, maintaining high production and quality standards, and helping to progress our artisan boulangerie program.

You will be working within an ethnically and culturally diverse workplace, alongside team members from a range of backgrounds. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, including the ability to work respectfully and effectively across different cultures, communication styles and levels of English proficiency while maintaining a positive and collaborative team environment.

This position requires early-morning/night shifts, with shifts starting from approximately 1:00 am.

Duties / Responsibilities

Produce a variety of breads, pastries, and bakery products in sufficient quantities to meet business demand.
Prepare dough and pastry, including weighing ingredients, mixing, kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, shaping, and proofing.
Decorate, glaze, fill, and finish products according to recipes and quality standards.
Prepare, load, bake, unload, and cool products while ensuring consistent quality.
Monitor and control oven temperatures and baking times.
Inspect ingredients and finished products for quality, consistency, appearance, and freshness.
Clean, sanitise, and maintain bakery equipment and work areas in accordance with OHS and food safety requirements.
Follow workplace health, safety, hygiene, food-handling, and operational procedures.
Manage ingredients and supplies, including correct storage, stock rotation, and reporting shortages.
Follow production schedules, recipes, and procedures to ensure products are ready on time.
Work effectively with other staff to maintain smooth bakery operations.
Perform other reasonable bakery production and related duties as required.

Qualifications
The position requires a relevant baking or pastry qualification, such as a:

A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience as a Baker.
A relevant baking or pastry qualification, such as a Certificate III in Baking or an equivalent qualification.
Together with practical experience in commercial baking and knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.
