Kitchen Team – Prep Cook | Commis Chef | Demi Chef | CDP

Location: Barangaroo, Sydney NSW

Employment Type: Casual

About Zanobia

Zanobia is a premium Lebanese dining destination in Barangaroo, Sydney, bringing together authentic Middle Eastern flavours, quality ingredients and modern dining.

We are currently looking for passionate and reliable Kitchen Team Members to join our growing team across the following positions:

● Prep Cook

● Commis Chef

● Demi Chef

● Chef de Partie (CDP)

About the Roles

We are looking for kitchen professionals who take pride in their work and are passionate about producing high-quality food in a busy restaurant environment.

Depending on your experience and skill level, you will be responsible for food preparation, mise en place, cooking, plating and maintaining the standards of your assigned section.

Key Responsibilities

● Prepare and cook food according to Zanobia’s recipes and presentation standards

● Complete daily mise en place and ensure your section is ready for service

● Maintain consistency in flavour, quality, portioning and presentation

● Work efficiently during busy service periods

● Follow food safety, hygiene and WHS requirements

● Maintain a clean, organised and safe workstation

● Properly store, label and rotate food products

● Assist with stock control and minimise food wastage

● Work closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and kitchen team

● Support other kitchen sections when required

● Follow instructions and maintain a professional standard at all times

Position Levels

Prep Cook

Ideal for someone with basic commercial kitchen experience who is confident with food preparation, chopping, portioning, mise en place and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen.

Commis Chef

Suitable for an entry-level or developing chef with some commercial kitchen experience who wants to build their skills across different sections of the kitchen.

Demi Chef

Suitable for an experienced kitchen professional who can confidently handle a section, maintain food quality and work independently during service.

Chef de Partie (CDP)

Suitable for an experienced chef capable of taking responsibility for a section, leading service within that section and maintaining high standards of food quality, consistency and presentation.

About You

We are looking for candidates who are:

● Experienced in a commercial restaurant or professional kitchen

● Passionate about food and hospitality

● Reliable, punctual and professional

● Able to work effectively as part of a team

● Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

● Able to maintain high standards during busy service

● Knowledgeable about food safety and kitchen hygiene

● Able to follow recipes, specifications and instructions

● Flexible to work evenings, weekends and public holidays

● Willing to learn and develop their skills

Experience with Lebanese, Middle Eastern, charcoal/grill or premium restaurant cuisine will be highly regarded.
