Join Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Australia's leading independent law firm.

The Melbourne Banking & Finance team are seeking an experienced paralegal to assist with high-volume settlements, presale reviews and document preparation.

We are seeking a candidate who will have property-related experience in a law firm or conveyancing company.
Please note this role will not be open to legal students or those who have just completed a legal degree at this time.

Key responsibilities

Obtaining and reviewing Title, ASIC & PPSR searches;
Preparing or review of PPSR releases;
Preparing mortgages and settlement checklists;
Opening, maintaining and problem-solving PEXA workspaces;
Conducting multi-jurisdictional refinances, advance and discharge settlements;
Attendances with paper settlements (external) if and when required;
Reviewing and reporting on Subdivisions (NICO, landswaps, consolidations, Section 32A plans);
Reviewing and reporting on Section 173 agreements;
Conducting and reporting on presale reviews;
Preparing fee estimates;
Preparing internal and external correspondence;
Undertaking general administrative tasks.

Knowledge, skills and experience

At least 3 years property related or legal administration experience in a law firm or conveyancing company
Solid understanding of the conveyancing procedure, including parties involved and responsibility for documentation, attendances and funds
Problem solving, communication and organisational skills;
Time management skills and ability to prioritise competing tasks under pressure
Advanced knowledge and experience of Outlook, Word and Excel.
