The Melbourne Banking & Finance team are seeking an experienced paralegal to assist with high-volume settlements, presale reviews and document preparation.
We are seeking a candidate who will have property-related experience in a law firm or conveyancing company.
Please note this role will not be open to legal students or those who have just completed a legal degree at this time.

Key responsibilities
- Obtaining and reviewing Title, ASIC & PPSR searches;
- Preparing or review of PPSR releases;
- Preparing mortgages and settlement checklists;
- Opening, maintaining and problem-solving PEXA workspaces;
- Conducting multi-jurisdictional refinances, advance and discharge settlements;
- Attendances with paper settlements (external) if and when required;
- Reviewing and reporting on Subdivisions (NICO, landswaps, consolidations, Section 32A plans);
- Reviewing and reporting on Section 173 agreements;
- Conducting and reporting on presale reviews;
- Preparing fee estimates;
- Preparing internal and external correspondence;
- Undertaking general administrative tasks.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- At least 3 years property related or legal administration experience in a law firm or conveyancing company
- Solid understanding of the conveyancing procedure, including parties involved and responsibility for documentation, attendances and funds
- Problem solving, communication and organisational skills;
- Time management skills and ability to prioritise competing tasks under pressure
- Advanced knowledge and experience of Outlook, Word and Excel.
