Roser Lawyers is a boutique specialist litigation firm practising in insolvency, bankruptcy, debt recovery and commercial litigation. We act for some of Australia's leading insolvency practitioners, national debt recovery firms, corporate clients and company directors in matters across all Australian jurisdictions, including regular appearances in the Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court.

The Role
We are looking for a lawyer with 1 year+ post-admission experience to join our growing litigation and insolvency team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a junior lawyer who wants to run their own files early, appear in court regularly and build genuine expertise in insolvency and commercial disputes.
Your Day-to-Day Will Include
- Running your own debt recovery and enforcement files under supervision, from letter of demand through to judgment and enforcement
- Drafting court documents including statements of claim, defences, affidavits, statutory demands, creditor's petitions and winding up applications
- Assisting on unfair preference claims, voidable transaction recoveries and other insolvency litigation for liquidators and trustees in bankruptcy
- Appearing at directions hearings, call-overs and interlocutory applications in the Local Court, District Court, Supreme Court and Federal Courts
- Briefing and instructing counsel, and attending hearings and mediations
- Preparing advices on insolvency, bankruptcy, debt recovery and commercial disputes
- Corresponding directly with clients, insolvency practitioners, debtors and opposing solicitors
- Conducting legal research and preparing memoranda on discrete issues
- Assisting with bankruptcy proceedings, including creditor's petitions and public examinations
- General file management, including cost estimates, billing and court deadlines
About You
- Admitted as a lawyer in NSW (or eligible for admission) with a current practising certificate
- 1 year+ PQE in litigation, insolvency, debt recovery or commercial law (clerkship or paralegal experience in these areas also highly regarded)
- Strong drafting and legal research skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator, comfortable dealing directly with clients and opponents
- Well organised, able to manage competing deadlines across a busy caseload
- Commercially minded with a practical, outcomes-focused approach
- A genuine interest in insolvency and commercial litigation and a desire to advocate in court

Pay: $77,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
