Role Description:
Working with our Accounting Manager supporting our Integrated Defence and Autonomous Systems (IDAS) team, this role will be responsible for supporting the Project and Accounting Manager in maintaining the integrity and transparency of financial data to facilitate planning and decision making for the project.
Core Duties:
- Be a Key Business Partner to internal stakeholders including working closely with Project Managers, Commercial, Cost Schedule Analysts, Engineering, and the wider Finance Function.
- Preparation of financial inputs and commentary into the monthly Contract Status Reports (CSR), Investment Status Reports (ISR) and UK Reporting.
- Work with the business to prepare the projects Integrated Business Plan (IBP), annual budgets, quarterly re-forecast and monthly rolling forecast.
- Carefully monitor Research and Development (R&D) spend, ensuring correct cost categorisation and financial integrity of data.
- Support bidding activities by reviewing key financial inputs, and preparation of Customer Reporting.
- Ongoing billing processes, maintenance and monitoring, including incorporating changes resulting from Contract Change Proposal’s (CCP’s).
- Maintain strong project governance and ensure strong controls are in place.
- Manage and prepare the project cash flow submissions.
About You:
- Degree qualification, and completed CA or CPA qualification
- A curious mind and the ability to think critically and challenge and influence stakeholders
- Experience working within a project team will be seen as favourable.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience of adapting these styles to audiences at varying organisational levels.
- Ability to understand, analyse and communicate financial results and financial consequences of specific initiatives/plans.
- Collaborative approach to work in a team environment within finance and across functions, and adapt style to account for individual differences and motivators.
- As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and either possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance
