Senior Risk and Business Continuity Advisor, The Office of General Counsel (OGC)

Role impact & contribution

As a Senior Risk and Business Continuity Advisor, you will play a key role in strengthening Treasury's enterprise risk management, business continuity and organisational resilience capability.

You will partner with stakeholders across Treasury to identify, assess, monitor and report on strategic, operational, project and continuity risks while helping business areas prepare for, respond to and recover from disruption.

Your work will involve coordinating business impact analyses, facilitating business continuity planning and exercises, maintaining risk and assurance systems, and preparing high-quality reporting and insights for senior leaders and governance committees. You will translate complex risk and continuity concepts into practical advice, tools, dashboards and guidance that support informed decision-making across Treasury.

Working collaboratively with business leaders and stakeholders, you will help embed a strong risk culture and drive continuous improvement of Treasury's risk management and business continuity frameworks.

You will be joining our The Office of the General Counsel Group and will be working within the Risk, Compliance and Audit Division. Read more about your future Group and Division.

What you can bring to the role.

In this important role, we are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in risk management, business continuity, resilience, governance, compliance, emergency management or a related discipline.
Experience applying enterprise risk management and business continuity practices, including risk assessments, control assessments, business impact analysis, continuity planning, exercising and reporting.
Strong capability to identify, assess and monitor risks, evaluate controls, and support effective mitigation strategies.
Experience developing practical risk frameworks, tools, reporting and guidance to support organisational decision-making and compliance.
The ability to interpret legislation, policies, standards and government requirements and translate them into practical business solutions.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality reports and influence outcomes across a diverse organisation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and judgement skills, with the ability to provide practical, evidence-based advice in a dynamic environment.
