About the Role
You will join our Remuneration Tribunal Secretariat team within the Industrial Relations branch in the People and Workforce group. As the Policy Officer, you will provide specialist policy, governance and project support to the operation of three independent Remuneration Tribunals, contributing to evidence-based decision-making on remuneration matters across the NSW public sector.
Working within a unique portfolio of policy and project activities, you will undertake complex research and analysis, coordinate statutory review and determination processes, prepare high-quality briefs, reports and recommendations, and support the delivery of key policy initiatives. You will also coordinate stakeholder consultation, manage competing priorities and contribute to the successful delivery of annual review processes and other time-critical projects.
You will work closely with Tribunal members and liaise with senior executives and officer from agencies across government, building trusted relationships while exercising sound judgement and discretion when managing sensitive and confidential matters. This is an opportunity to develop specialist expertise in industrial relations policy, remuneration frameworks and government decision-making while contributing to work that has a lasting impact across the NSW public sector.

We're Looking For

Policy and Research: Demonstrated experience undertaking policy research, analysing complex legislation, data or evidence, and preparing clear, evidence-based advice and recommendations

Project Coordination: Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects, governance activities or review processes, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within tight timeframes

Stakeholder Engagement: Experience building productive relationships, coordinating consultation processes and working collaboratively with senior stakeholders across government or other complex organisations

Communication: Excellent written communication skills, with experience preparing high-quality briefs, reports, submissions or executive correspondence on complex issues

Critical Thinking: Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to synthesise complex information, exercise sound judgement and support informed decision-making
