About the role
Western Health Hand Therapy is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist with expertise managing a caseload of complex trauma and chronic conditions.
The service currently operates across both Sunshine Hospital and Footscray Hospital.
Key responsibilities
This position will co-lead of our newly established Acquired Hand Conditions Clinic, an advanced practice role with support to credential locally.
The role offers opportunities for research and quality improvement, as well as collaboration with the Grade 4 Occupational Therapist and participating surgical teams to support service development. The successful candidate will also have opportunity to contribute to our advanced practice post-operative clinic, which includes management of tendon, fracture and multi-trauma injuries.
About you

Minimum seven years clinical experience (including 5 years of hand therapy specialty)

Demonstrates experience in research and quality improvement

Ability to collaborate and engage with the participating surgical teams

Commitment to embedding evidence-based practice in the service design and clinical interventions

Capacity to manage a mixed caseload of trauma and chronic conditions

Willingness to participate in Advanced Practitioner credentialling
