About Soka

Soka (@Soka.restaurant) is a trendy and Japanese restaurant with charcoal inspiration and it’s owned by the group, who manages some of Brisbane/ Sunshine Coast's best reviewed modern restaurants including Lyra Greek on the Sunshine Coast.

We are looking for a Cook/ Chef!

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards
Assist in managing daily kitchen operations and service
Ensure food preparation, presentation, and portioning are consistent and of high quality
Check the freshness and quality of ingredients and food products
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas, equipment, and storage facilities
Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times
Assist with stock control, ordering, and inventory management
Support menu development and recipe preparation under the direction of senior chefs
Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during service when required
Ensure efficient workflow and timely preparation of meals during busy periods
Monitor kitchen equipment and report maintenance or safety issues
Assist with training junior kitchen staff and maintaining team standards

Skills and Experience:

Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen
Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery or related field preferred
Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen operations
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Passion for quality food and presentation

Summary of Role Requirements:

Looking for candidates available to work weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays
2-3 years of relevant work experience required for this role
Work visa can be provided for this role

Pay: $33.00 – $40.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

Maroochydore QLD 4558: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Experience:

Chef: 2 years (Preferred)

Work Authorisation:

Australia (Required)
