An opportunity exists to join Hitachi as a Product Support Engineer to support the performance and reliability of its national mining excavator fleet. This role forms part of a specialist team responsible for investigating equipment failures, identifying reliability trends, and developing practical solutions to improve machine performance across Australia.

Your responsibilities include:

Investigate equipment reliability issues across the mining excavator fleet.
Conduct failure analysis, component teardowns, and root cause investigations.
Visit customer sites to assess equipment concerns and gather technical data.
Analyse fleet performance data to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
Work closely with branches, field teams, and factory support functions.
Support the development and implementation of engineering solutions.
Contribute to national technical projects.

About You – We want to hear from you if you possess the following qualities:

Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer or similar.
Experience within mining, heavy industry, construction equipment, or OEM environments.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and asset reliability.
Ability to analyse technical information and identify practical solutions.
Exposure to mining equipment or heavy mobile plant is highly regarded.
CAD experience is advantageous but not essential.
