About the role:
Darebin City Council is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Administration Officer to support the City Safety & Compliance department. Reporting to the Prosecutions Officer, this role provides high-quality administrative and customer service support across a broad range of compliance functions including Traffic Enforcement, Animal Management, Planning Enforcement, Local Laws Compliance and School Crossing Supervision. You'll play a key role in ensuring efficient service delivery, maintaining accurate records, processing permits and registrations, and assisting with regulatory administration that supports the community and Council's statutory obligations

You will:

Deliver professional customer service and administrative support to internal and external customers, responding to enquiries via phone, email and face-to-face channels.
Process permits, animal registrations, infringement-related administration and other compliance activities accurately and efficiently.
Maintain accurate records, databases, registers and correspondence in accordance with Council requirements and records management standards.
Provide administrative assistance to Enforcement Officers and support departmental regulatory and compliance programs.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and assist in the preparation of reports, submissions and departmental documentation

About you:
You are an organised and proactive administration professional who enjoys delivering outstanding customer service in a busy environment. You can manage competing priorities, maintain a high level of accuracy and build positive relationships with customers and colleagues alike.

Demonstrated experience in an administrative and/or customer service role, preferably within a compliance, regulatory or government environment.
Strong organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to maintain accurate records, manage databases and draft professional correspondence.
Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to influence, assist and gain the cooperation of others.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using electronic records or data management systems.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team, manage multiple tasks concurrently and maintain professionalism under pressure. Local government experience will be highly regarded.
