Position Brief - Senior Asset Management Officer

About the team

The Enterprise Strategic Asset Management (ESAM) team performs a cross-cutting role across the City's infrastructure functions, integrating asset management practices and decision-making across the full asset lifecycle. The team is responsible for maintaining and continually improving the City's Asset Management System, including the Asset Management Framework, Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP), Asset Management Plans (AMPs), governance requirements and lifecycle management practices. Through leadership, assurance and continuous improvement initiatives, ESAM drives the development of organisational asset management capability and maturity, while supporting robust planning, risk-informed decision-making, investment prioritisation, performance reporting and asset revaluations across the City's infrastructure portfolios.

About the role

As the Senior Asset Management Officer, you'll play a key role in strengthening asset management practices across the organisation. Working closely with stakeholders across Infrastructure Gold Coast and the wider City, you'll support the delivery of asset management improvement initiatives, coordinate key planning activities and contribute to the successful delivery of annual asset revaluation processes.

What you’ll be doing:
Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the City's Asset Management Framework.
Partner with internal stakeholders to embed consistent asset management practices across asset networks.
Coordinate components of the annual Asset Management Plan update process, providing guidance and support to business areas.
Review Asset Management Plans to ensure quality, consistency and alignment with organisational requirements.
Support the delivery of annual asset revaluation activities by coordinating technical inputs and maintaining supporting tools and documentation.
Develop and improve asset management processes, governance documentation and reporting.
Contribute to business continuity by maintaining critical knowledge and supporting key operational functions.

We’re looking for people who have:
You'll be a collaborative and analytical professional with experience in asset management and a passion for continuous improvement. You enjoy working across diverse teams, building strong stakeholder relationships and translating complex information into practical outcomes.

You'll also bring:
Experience in asset management, infrastructure planning or a related discipline.
Knowledge of asset management frameworks, principles and best practice.
Experience coordinating projects, processes or improvement initiatives across multiple stakeholders.
Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build productive working relationships.
A Bachelor's degree in Asset Management, Business Management or Engineering, or an equivalent combination of qualifications, knowledge and relevant experience.
Experience supporting governance, reporting or asset revaluation activities will be highly regarded.
