Senior Cloud & Data Technical Business Analyst

Location: Canberra, ACT (Preferred) | Hybrid

Security Clearance: Baseline OR NV1

Contract: Initial 12 Months

We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to join a major enterprise transformation program focused on cloud platforms, ERP integration, application modernisation, and data migration. This is an exciting opportunity to work across large-scale technology initiatives, bridging business requirements with technical delivery teams to ensure successful outcomes during the transition from legacy environments to modern cloud and ERP ecosystems.

The successful candidate will play a key role in analysing business processes, defining integration and data requirements, supporting migration activities, and collaborating with stakeholders across technology and business functions.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

Elicit, analyse, document, and validate business, functional, and technical requirements.
Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders, architects, engineers, and project teams.
Translate business needs into detailed user stories, process maps, data flows, and functional specifications.
Identify opportunities to improve business processes, data quality, and system integration capabilities.
Support solution design activities and ensure requirements traceability throughout delivery.

Data Migration & ERP Transformation

Gather and document data migration requirements, business rules, and data quality standards.
Support end-to-end ERP data migration activities, including profiling, cleansing, mapping, validation, and reconciliation.
Work closely with technical teams to define migration strategies and testing approaches.
Coordinate business sign-off processes and migration readiness activities.
Assist with cutover planning and post-migration validation.

Integration & Application Modernisation

Define and document integration requirements across ERP, cloud, and enterprise applications.
Collaborate with developers and integration engineers on API, data, and system integration initiatives.
Support analysis of legacy applications and future-state solution design.
Assist with API requirements, data mapping, and interface specifications.

Essential Skills & Experience

Business Analysis

Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst within large-scale transformation programs.
Strong requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience creating process maps, user stories, business requirements documents, and functional specifications.
Ability to bridge communication between business and technical teams.

Cloud & Data Platforms

Exposure to or experience working with:

Microsoft Azure
Azure Data Factory
Azure Synapse Analytics
Azure SQL
Cloudera
PySpark
Hive SQL
Apache Iceberg

Data & Integration

Experience supporting data migration and data transformation initiatives.
Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data integration concepts.
Knowledge of data quality, governance, and reconciliation practices.
Experience documenting data mapping and migration requirements.

ERP & Enterprise Systems

SAP S/4HANA transformation, integration, or migration experience.
Enterprise application integration experience.
Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and XML-based integrations.
Experience supporting API requirements and integration testing.

Tools & Methodologies

Agile delivery experience.
Git and CI/CD awareness.
Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
Strong documentation and reporting skills.
