This is a part-time opportunity averaging
2 shifts per week, offering variety, meaningful work and the chance to make a genuine difference in patients' lives every day.
About the Role
As an Administration Officer, you'll be the first point of contact for our patients, doctors and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while supporting the day-to-day operations of our Radiation Oncology centre.
Working closely with clinical and administrative teams, you'll coordinate appointments, manage patient admissions and reception activities, assist with billing and ensure a seamless experience for our patients from arrival through to departure.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Greeting patients, visitors and medical specialists in a warm and professional manner
- Managing reception and waiting room activities
- Coordinating patient appointments and treatment schedules
- Preparing and discussing treatment fee estimates with patients in a sensitive and professional manner
- Coordinating financial consent processes and ensuring patients understand any out-of-pocket expenses prior to treatment
- Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation
- Processing admissions, discharges and outpatient paperwork
- Assisting with billing, invoicing, Medicare lodgements and payment processing
- Providing administrative support to doctors and the broader multidisciplinary team
- Responding to patient and stakeholder enquiries with empathy and professionalism
- Supporting operational processes that contribute to outstanding patient care
About You
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service.
You'll bring:
- Previous administration, receptionist or customer service experience
- Excellent communication skills and a professional phone manner
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- A positive, team-oriented attitude
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment
- Confidence using Microsoft Outlook and other computer systems
- Flexibility to work across a variety of administrative functions
Highly regarded:
- Medical administration or medical reception experience
- Formal training such as a Medical Receptionist course or similar qualification
- Experience working with practice management systems, Medicare or healthcare billing processes
Hours and Flexibility
This role averages
2 shifts per week, with:
- Typical shift hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm (8.5-hour shifts including breaks)
- A regular Thursday roster
- An additional shift that may alternate between Monday and Wednesday, depending on clinic requirements
- Flexibility to support changing operational needs
