About the Role
As a Web Developer, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and continuously improving the company's digital platforms to effectively showcase our services and support business operations. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to design and implement innovative website features, ensure optimal website performance, and deliver engaging digital experiences for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance the company's websites and digital platforms using current web technologies and best practices.
- Create responsive, user-friendly, and visually appealing web interfaces that provide an excellent user experience across desktop and mobile devices.
- Consult with management and operational teams to analyse business requirements and translate them into practical digital solutions.
- Develop and implement customised website features, including online enquiry forms, project portfolios, recruitment pages, customer portals, and interactive functionality.
- Maintain website content, digital assets, and databases, ensuring information remains accurate, relevant, and up to date.
- Monitor website performance and optimise loading speed, functionality, accessibility, and search engine performance.
- Identify and resolve technical issues, bugs, compatibility problems, and security vulnerabilities.
- Implement website security measures, data protection protocols, and backup procedures to ensure system reliability.
- Integrate third-party applications, APIs, payment gateways, and business management systems where required.
- Perform routine website maintenance, software updates, and testing across multiple browsers and devices.
- Assist in implementing SEO best practices to improve search engine rankings and online visibility.
- Work closely with designers and marketing personnel to ensure consistent branding and digital communication.
- Prepare technical documentation, website maintenance procedures, and user guides where necessary.
- Keep current with emerging web technologies, industry standards, and digital trends to recommend ongoing improvements.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum one year of relevant experience in web development or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, and responsive web development.
- Experience with content management systems (such as WordPress) and modern web development frameworks.
- Knowledge of MySQL or other relational database management systems.
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or similar graphic design software.
- Understanding of SEO principles, website optimisation, and web accessibility standards.
- Familiarity with international web protocols, standards, and current web technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Flexible approach to work and ability to perform effectively in a dynamic environment.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with UI/UX design principles.
- Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
- Experience integrating APIs and third-party services.
- Understanding of website analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
- Basic knowledge of digital marketing and social media integration.
