About the role

The Project Surveyor provides a range of surveying services, including cadastral, feature, construction set-out and monitoring surveys, to support transport and government projects. The role applies technical expertise, follows legislative and safety requirements, and works with internal and external resources to deliver accurate surveying outcomes.

You will provide surveying advice, prepare plans and reports, support infrastructure projects, and manage survey activities to meet quality, budget and timeframe requirements. The role requires strong knowledge of cadastral and engineering surveying, land information systems, CAD software, field techniques and effective stakeholder engagement.

You’re someone who:

Communicates clearly and effectively, presenting information in a structured way that supports understanding across different audiences.
Applies critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess issues, interpret guidelines and develop practical solutions.
Identifies opportunities for improvement, encourages innovation and contributes ideas to enhance quality and efficiency.
Delivers projects by coordinating tasks, monitoring progress and adapting to changing priorities and requirements.
Applies strong surveying knowledge and technical skills to deliver accurate outcomes for transport infrastructure projects.

Qualifications and experience

You’ll bring:

A tertiary qualification in Geomatics or a related discipline, with relevant experience in surveying or a similar field (mandatory).
Strong technical capability using surveying equipment, CAD and survey computation software, including MicroStation and Trimble Business Centre (mandatory).
Experience processing and analysing survey data, preparing plans, and applying surveying practices across field and office environments (mandatory).

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa necessary for the nature of the position.
