The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is an independent statutory authority established by the Australian Government to maintain an impartial and independent electoral system for eligible voters through active electoral roll management, efficient delivery of polling services, and targeted education and public awareness programs.

The Team

The People Branch delivers strategic and operational human resources services across the AEC, supporting employees, managers and business areas through expert advice, practical support and innovative workforce solutions. The branch is responsible for a broad range of functions, including workforce strategy and planning, recruitment, HR operations, employee relations, learning and development, diversity and culture, safety and wellbeing, remuneration, HR systems, and workforce reporting and insights. Working in partnership with business areas, the branch combines a strategic focus with strong operational delivery to support organisational priorities and workforce capability.

The Wellbeing team forms part of the People Branch and leads the agency’s approach to employee health, safety and wellbeing. The team provides expert support and advice on injury management, early intervention, return-to-work programs and workplace wellbeing initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and legislative requirements. Through a proactive and collaborative approach, the team assists employees and managers to achieve safe, sustainable work outcomes while fostering a supportive and healthy workplace culture.

The Opportunity

The HR Advisor, Workplace Integrity Case Coordination provides operational coordination and analytical support to the Australian Electoral Commission’s (AEC) Workplace Integrity framework. The role supports case coordination function by assisting with intake, documentation, workflow tracking, reporting and stakeholder liaison across Employee Relations, Security, Wellbeing, Fraud, Public Interest Disclosure (PID) and Legal.

The role contributes to the effective, timely and consistent management of complex, sensitive and high-risk matters by maintaining accurate records, coordinating case documentation and action tracking, monitoring progress, and supporting clear information flows that enable informed executive decision-making. The role also provides secretariat and administrative support for case forums, including preparing meeting materials, agendas, minutes and action registers, while ensuring records meet governance and reporting requirements.

Working closely with internal stakeholders across the organisation, the role supports the preparation of briefs, reports and updates for senior leaders, assists in coordinating information, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and broader Employee Relations and Wellbeing priorities. Success in the role requires sound judgement, discretion and professionalism when managing sensitive workplace matters and supporting compliance with legislative, policy and governance obligations.

To excel you’ll have:

Demonstrated experience in administrative, coordination or governance support roles, ideally within employee relations, integrity, risk or case management environments.
Sound understanding of APS values, confidentiality and governance requirements, or the ability to quickly acquire and apply this knowledge.
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate, high-quality outcomes within established timeframes.
High attention to detail, with proven experience maintaining accurate records, preparing documentation and tracking actions to support effective case management and governance processes.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, concise documentation and build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
Demonstrated understanding of the sensitivities, risks and complexities associated with employee relations, workplace integrity or other sensitive people matters.
Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion, professionalism and sound judgement.

Desirable

Relevant qualifications and/or experience working within a Human Resources environment.
