Full Job Description

Assistant Boiler Operator

About the role

Reporting directly to the designated Shift Supervisor, you will have the responsibility for operating and monitoring steam turbines, boilers and associated equipment. You will be a key member of the Production Team, self-motivated and committed to achieving targets in relation to safety, quality and productivity.

You will be a person that is comfortable with working on shift in a continuous improvement environment, driven by systems, processes and discipline. You will also be computer literate and have the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with team members, be team-oriented, have a positive attitude and strong communication skills.

Required:

Turbine Operator (TO) (High Risk Licence)
High level of teamwork and collaboration skills
Willingness to learn and develop
Being a self-starter who can identify and raise issues
Computer literacy (Citect/SCADA preferable)
Basic understanding of boilers (18-30 bar)

Preferable:

Advanced Boiler Operation (BA)
Queensland Open Driver’s Licence (Manual)
Forklift (High Risk Licence); and
Extensive Boiler Operating Experience in the sugar industry
