Full Job Description

Project Controls Engineer – Civil / Earthworks

Location: Perth, Western Australia
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience: 1–3 Years
Industry: Civil Construction | Earthworks | Mining Infrastructure

Key Responsibilities

Support project planning, reporting, and progress tracking.
Assist with weekly project reports and project meetings.
Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and action registers.
Review daily field reports and contractor progress updates.
Provide progress information for schedule updates and P6 reporting.
Verify civil and earthworks progress using site records, photos, survey data, and quantity information.
Assist with progress claim reviews and contractor claim reconciliation.
Support compilation of NOD/EOT documentation and supporting evidence.
Maintain project registers including actions, claims, delays, reports, and issues.
Assist with tender preparation and project mobilisation activities.
Travel to project sites as required, including day trips, occasional overnight stays, and FIFO travel when necessary.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, or related discipline.
1–3 years of experience in civil construction, earthworks, project engineering, quantity tracking, contractor coordination, or project controls.
Understanding of civil and earthworks activities.
Ability to interpret drawings, quantities, survey records, and contractor reports.
Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams skills.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to site.

Preferred Experience

Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
Power BI or project reporting tools.
Progress claims, contractor claims, and site progress verification.
Mining, civil infrastructure, bulk earthworks, drainage, or road construction projects.
Preparation of meeting minutes and maintenance of project registers.
