Job Description

Your new day to day:

Respond to people-related safety reports and partner with dedicated Safety, Training and RTW teams.
Support leaders with day-to-day people issues, including performance, attendance, conduct and general HR matters.
Guide and support advisors on people issues and investigations (e.g. conduct, behaviour, bullying, harassment, time theft), providing advice and a second set of eyes, and stepping in on more complex matters when needed.
Be the key People & Culture contact on site, building strong relationships with leaders, supervisors and team members across the plant.
Lead a People & Culture team that brings the passion every day, with a knowledgeable, open and supportive style where everyone learns from each other.
Oversee and support recruitment and onboarding, helping set new starters up for success.
Provide People & Culture support to the Myola feedlot (~ 25 team members), with regular visits about an hour from Inverell to stay connected with the team.
With support, help drive key people projects and change management (such as time and attendance implementation and enterprise agreement activity), making sure communication and people impacts are well managed.

Desired Skills and Experience

To be successful, you’ll need:

Experience as a Senior HR Advisor or People & Culture Business Partner, ideally in a busy, operational environment (any industry welcome, meat/food or other highly regulated environments a bonus)
Experience managing HR matters such as performance, conduct, bullying and harassment and safety-related behaviour, including running or supporting investigations and documenting outcomes clearly
A grounded, thoughtful and empathetic approach, with a genuine culture of care for both people and the business
Strong communication and partnering skills, able to build trust with leaders, coach them through day-to-day people issues and work well with central/corporate teams
Exposure to the full employee lifecycle (recruitment, onboarding, performance, development and exit) and interest in workforce planning and workforce stability
Exposure to Fair Work processes, Awards and EBAs, and a willingness to dive deeper and build your confidence in this space, including supporting consultation and change activity
An open, calm and process-driven way of working, reflecting our values of agility and openness while keeping HR systems, documentation and confidentiality on track and people-first
