About the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre
Founded in 2001, the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is Australia’s largest human rights organisation providing support to people seeking asylum. We are an independent, values-driven, not-for-profit organisation whose programs support and empower people seeking asylum to maximise their own physical, mental and social well being. We champion the rights of people seeking asylum and mobilise a community of compassion to create lasting social and policy change.
The ASRC movement is proudly supported by a community of committed volunteers and supporters who embrace the organisation’s vision that people seeking asylum can live safely, sustainably, independently and equally.
About The Role
Are you a customer service champion, a database wizard, or an administration pro looking to align your daily work with a powerful purpose?
As our Supporter Experience Officer, you will be the welcoming voice and the organizational backbone of our fundraising team. If you love people, thrive on smooth processes, and want to see the tangible impact of your work every single day, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the Voice of the ASRC: Act as the first point of contact for our passionate supporters, answering donor queries via phone, email, and mail with empathy, warmth, and professionalism.
- Champion Our Database: Keep our Salesforce CRM running seamlessly by updating donor records, managing communications, and accurately processing and reconciling financial and in-kind donations.
- Empower Volunteers: Supervise, train, and roster an amazing team of fundraising administration volunteers who help power our department.
- Grow the Movement: Conduct warm, outbound conversion calls to prospective leads, inviting them to join our community of regular monthly givers.
- Collaborate for Impact: Link arms with our Community Food and Material Aid teams to coordinate community donations and share the stories of how our supporters' generosity changes lives.
About You
- A Customer-First Mindset: Proven experience in a high-volume customer service, donor care, or helpdesk environment.
- Tech Savviness: Strong hands-on experience navigating Salesforce (or a similar major CRM) with an exceptional eye for detail and data integrity.
- Top-Tier Organization: The ability to juggle multiple workflows, prioritize on the fly, and keep administrative processes running like clockwork.
- Cultural Competency: A natural ability to connect, communicate, and work productively with people from highly diverse cultural, linguistic, and marginalized backgrounds.
- Desirable Extras: Experience supervising volunteers, or a foundational knowledge of the Australian asylum system. Lived experience of seeking asylum is highly valued and strongly encouraged to apply.
