About the Role:
The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is seeking Senior Dietitians to lead evidence-based nutritional care across Aged Care, Rehabilitation, and Palliative Care — a role where clinical depth and genuine compassion shape every patient interaction.
Where Your Expertise Will Make a Difference
Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team at Modbury and Lyell McEwin Hospitals, you will provide specialist dietetic services to some of the most complex and vulnerable patient cohorts in the northern Adelaide community. Your scope will include:
Delivering advanced nutritional assessment, diagnosis, and intervention across aged care, rehabilitation, and palliative care inpatient and outpatient settings
Providing clinical leadership and supervision to dietetic staff and students, supporting professional development across the team
Contributing to service improvement, quality initiatives, and the development of evidence-based clinical guidelines specific to NALHN
Collaborating with medical, nursing, and allied health colleagues to ensure integrated, person-centred care planning
What You Bring
Tertiary qualification in Nutrition and Dietetics and eligibility for membership with Dietitians Australia (DA)
Demonstrated senior-level clinical experience in aged care, rehabilitation, or palliative care settings
Proficiency in enteral nutrition management and malnutrition assessment within an acute and subacute context
Proven ability to mentor and support junior clinicians within a public health environment such as SA Health
Strong communication skills for engaging sensitively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Experience contributing to quality improvement or service development within a health network setting

In this role you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills which will enable you to successfully problem solve, resolve conflicts and negotiate, including the ability to engage in difficult conversations, whilst building and maintaining relationships. An ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and demonstrated resilience within a stressful and complex environment is essential to this role.
