About the Role
The Data Insights and Analytics Specialist plays a key role in enabling data-driven decision making across the University by designing and delivering high-quality analytics products and insights. Working closely with stakeholders, the role translates complex business requirements into meaningful, actionable reporting and advanced analytics solutions, while ensuring strong data governance and quality. By leveraging modern technologies and fostering collaboration across Enterprise Data teams, this position drives innovation, improves operational efficiency, and supports the University’s strategic objectives through reliable and accessible data insights.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver actionable insights: Design and implement high-quality analytics products and reporting solutions that enable informed decision-making and deliver clear, measurable business value.
- Translate business needs into data solutions: Partner with stakeholders to understand requirements and develop scalable, fit-for-purpose analytics solutions that address key operational and strategic objectives.
- Enhance data quality and governance: Contribute to improving data integrity, consistency, and governance practices, ensuring reliable and trusted data is available across the organisation.
- Drive innovation and efficiency: Leverage modern analytics technologies and automation to improve processes, increase efficiency, and continuously enhance the organisation’s data analytics capability.
About the Team
The Data Insights and Analytics Specialist sits within the Financial Services & Enterprise Data Division, reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Engagement and Analytics. The role works closely with data custodians, enterprise data teams, and faculty and divisional stakeholders to deliver impactful analytics solutions. The team exists to provide high-quality data insights, strengthen data governance, and support informed decision-making across the University.
What You’ll Bring
- Relevant tertiary qualification in data, analytics, IT or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into effective data insights and analytics solutions
- Strong experience in data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) and SQL for data analysis.
- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate complex data clearly.
- Strong analytical thinking with a focus on data quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
