Full Job Description

Early Childhood Educator
Windsor Preschool is a small preschool located in South Windsor, NSW, providing education for 3-5 year old children. We are looking for a passionate and ambitious Full-time Early Childhood Educator/Worker with a passion for learning and growing their own knowledge.

The person we are looking for to join our team will have relevant qualifications and experience, possess a passion for Early Childhood Education, a willingness to develop knowledge and place children at the heart of decision making. You must have a passion for a career path in Early Childhood.

Tasks & responsibilities:

Assisting with planning and implementing educational program and daily learning activities for our children
Developing and implementing behavioural management strategies and adjusting to each individual child’s needs
Supporting children in managing their own behaviour with positive behaviour guidance strategies
Assistance in preparing materials, meals and classroom resources
Coordinating activities as part of the educational program including reading, recreation and games
Supervising children during daily routine including indoor and outdoor play and activities
Creating a supportive, stimulating and secure learning environment for the children
Building positive and caring relationships with the children and their families
Applying pedagogical knowledge and contemporary thinking to ensure the individual needs of all children are met
Observing, documenting, interpreting and evaluating the children's progress,
Demonstrating empathy and a willingness to support and engage with children with additional needs.
Assisting with classroom and outdoor set-up/pack-down
Keeping informed about the NQF, NQS and the current National Regulations
Complying with the relevant government regulations
Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications and skills required:

Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education
Current Working with Children Check (essential)
Completed Child Protection Training (essential)
First Aid and CPR certificates (or willingness to obtain)
Minimum 1-year previous experience working with preschool aged children (3-5 years) in an early childhood setting
Strong understanding of early childhood development and best practices in education
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative and supportive team environment
Flexibility to adjust activities and strategies to support children’s growth, development and needs
Strong understanding of the National Quality Standards (NQS) and Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
Ability to attend team meetings
Strong organisational skills
Physical strength and stamina required to pack-away and assist children in our centre environment

What we offer you:

Full-Time position - 38 hours per week
Annual salary of $76,520 (exclusive of superannuation)
