Full Job Description

Are you qualified, creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about cakes? Join our talented team at Maggio's Ryde as a Pastry Chef.

About the Role:
You will be mainly involved in portioning, baking items, and making creams. You'll be responsible for the final decorative touches that turn a cake into a work of art. This includes icing, decorating, and preparing cakes for display or custom orders.

Location: Maggio's Ryde
Schedule: Monday- Friday
Hours: 1-10pm

Key Responsibilities:

Portioning cakes in a fast pace commercial kitchen
Ice and decorate cakes using buttercream, fondant, and other finishes
Apply piping, writing, and decorative elements to cakes
Follow custom cake order specifications accurately
Ensure cakes are attractive, fresh, and delivered on time
Maintain a clean and organized workstation
Collaborate with bakers and decorators to meet production needs
Making Sausage Rolls
Work with chocolate décor, ganache, and chocolate-covered elements (experience preferred)

Requirements (Non-Negotiable):

Reliable transport for shifts
Lamination and dough experience required

Qualifications:

Previous experience finishing cakes in a commercial kitchen
Strong attention to detail and artistic skills
Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Food safety knowledge or certification is a plus
At least 1 year pastry experience in a commercial kitchen
