Retail Assistant – Customer Service & Postal Operations

Position: Casual (with opportunity for additional hours)
Location: Erina, NSW

Availability Required (Essential)

Applicants must be available Monday to Friday between 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM. Weekend availability and flexibility to cover additional shifts will be highly regarded.

Experience

We are looking for an experienced and professional retail team member with excellent customer service skills. Applicants with previous Australia Post, Licensed Post Office, postal services or similar retail experience will be given priority. Candidates with strong retail and customer service backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.

Erina Post & News is a busy Australia Post Licensed Post Office committed to delivering exceptional customer service while providing a wide range of postal, banking and retail services to the local community.

We are seeking a reliable, motivated and customer-focused individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional customer service in a friendly and professional manner.
Process Australia Post transactions accurately and efficiently.
Assist customers with parcels, mail, Express Post, registered mail and postal enquiries.
Process bill payments, banking and other Australia Post services.
Handle cash, EFTPOS and register balancing accurately.
Assist customers with retail purchases including stationery, gifts and other store products.
Receive, unpack, replenish and merchandise stock.
Maintain store presentation and cleanliness.
Follow Australia Post operational procedures and security requirements.
Support daily opening and closing procedures.
Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth daily operations.

Skills & Experience

Previous retail and customer service experience is preferred.
Previous Australia Post or Licensed Post Office experience will be highly regarded and prioritised during the selection process.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Confident cash handling and POS system experience.
Ability to multitask in a busy environment.
Reliable, punctual and professional.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Availability Requirements

Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (Essential)
Weekend availability is highly regarded.
Flexibility to cover additional shifts during busy periods and staff leave.
