About the role:
As a Ranger you will be accountable for delivering a wide variety of land management activities within the Ovens-King area of management. This may include environmental conservation works, maintenance of visitor facilities at campsites, cleaning, walking tracks and road management, visitor engagement, and working closely with Traditional Owners.

A key focus of the role is to contribute to the effective delivery of remote area management within Mt Buffalo National Park including our road network, campsites, natural and cultural values.

This role is physically demanding and will often involve manual outdoor field duties to be carried out on a regular basis in all weather conditions, often in remote areas. Candidates should have a reasonable level of health and fitness without significant medical issues that will prevent them undertaking the inherent tasks of a field based Ranger.

We are a diverse and dynamic team, with a passion for the protection and celebration of the Australian Alps Landscape. We have a people first approach, where we foster a strong culture of leadership, collaboration and delivery across a wide range of programs and activities.

We're looking for someone with:

Qualifications in Natural Resources/Park Management or related discipline.
Skills and experience in hands-on field operational delivery in remote areas.
Demonstrated self-motivation and personal organisation, time management and ability to work autonomously.
Strong personal communication skills and confidence to engage with park visitors and stakeholders.
An interest and passion for environmental conservation, park management and providing quality visitor facilities.
Ability to drive a manual vehicle in remote and challenging terrain.
